Airborne Forces Memorial


In order to create sufficient support for the wings a steel frame surrounds the whole piece to which the wings will be attached.
The steel frame gives the whole work more stability and I can push on with massing in.

Airborne Forces Memorial


I am making progress on the life-size sculpture of Pegasus for the Airborne Forces and Parachute Regiment Memorial. The pose has been massed in and you see in the second photograph that I have started to work on the anatomy. Once I have a blocked in the main muscle masses and skeleton I will start sculpting the finished surface, hopefully catching as much life and movement as possible.
The wings are next...

I've made a start on the wings today. The engineers will be coming down to see the maquette later in the week.
